Our Next Event
About FAITHOur lives have changed so much since Matt was diagnosed with Friedreich's Ataxia 5½ years ago. So much fear has turned into hope for the future. Dare we dream for a cure? Since there are no effective treatments for FA, it was apparent that the best thing we could do was to help move research forward in finding an effective treatment or cure for this devastating disease. The one thing in our lives that hasn't changed is our amazing community of friends and family. You have been a constant source of strength for us as we have fought this long battle against this disease. Four years ago we organized our first fund raiser, FAITH - Friedreich's Ataxia in the Heart, referring to the toll this disease can take on the heart. But more importantly, it refers to the faith that we will succeed in our fight against FA.
FAITH has raised approximately $150,000 for FA research, with last year's event raising over $80,000. We are very proud of the fact that nearly every dollar raised goes straight to research. Expenses are kept low through a combination of extensive volunteerism and donated materials.
Every dollar raised by FAITH goes to the Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance, FARA, a national organization dedicated to finding a treatment and cure for FA. Thanks to our committee of angels and supporters, as well as Outback Steakhouse, Saint Justin's Parish, Millennium Funk Party, and our emcee Jamie Matthews, we are able to provide a fabulous event benefiting a cause so close to all of our hearts. So come and celebrate life, love, friendship and FAITH.
